BBC’s Open News Archive and BBC Motion Gallery

The BBC Motion Gallery site has been available for some months. To quote:

Now the BBC are offering exclusive content from their news archives to UK residents at The Open News Archive. Video footage can be downloaded free of charge for a limited time.

Locust plague information

Locusts have been hatching north-west of Rushworth for some months now and the Victorian Department of Primary Industry has been spraying hatchlings and tracking movements. You can keep up to date with the latest info at this page at the DPI site. The most recent bulletin was issued at 0800 this morning (Fri 23-Dec-05) and the next bulletin is due 27-Dec-05.
